If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like when coziness meets culinary inspiration, Patriki is exactly the place where this happens naturally – without unnecessary pomp, but with an attention to detail you feel the moment you step inside.
Located in one of Plovdiv’s quieter corners, the venue welcomed us with warm lighting, cheerful staff, and an atmosphere that seems to say: “Sit back, this is going to be pleasant.” And it was.
First impression: the eggplant appetizer

Our evening began lightly, yet with a lot of character – an eggplant appetizer prepared in a way that combined creaminess with a subtle smoky note. Every bite felt well balanced – neither too acidic nor too heavy, but pleasantly inviting you to move on to the next plate. The textures – a crisp exterior and a soft, tender center – told a story of well-mastered technique.
The wine: Rosé “Angelica” from Chateau Copsa and Pinot Noir.

While enjoying the appetizer, we also chose two of the recommended wines.
The Rosé “Angelica” from Chateau Copsa turned out to be an excellent choice – fresh, with delicate fruity notes, perfect for starting the evening. We then moved on to a Pinot Noir, a wine with soft tannins and a rich aromatic profile that paired smoothly with the dishes that followed. The wine selection at Patriki feels carefully curated – something we rarely had reason to regret throughout the evening.
Roasted pumpkin salad – seasonal, yet full of character

After the wine, the roasted pumpkin salad was a true delight. Juicy cubes of pumpkin met arugula and walnuts, while a light dressing balanced the pumpkin’s natural sweetness with the peppery notes of the greens. This wasn’t just a “green plate” – it was a harmony of flavors that carried the memory of autumn while gently preparing the senses for the main courses.
Poppy seed bread – a small but impressive detail

The poppy seed bread – a small detail that truly stood out – was crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and carried a subtle aroma from the sprinkled poppy seeds. This complimentary offering from the house proved to be the perfect companion, pairing just as well with the salad as with the richer dishes that followed.
Salmon with peas – refined, yet unpretentious

The salmon we tried was prepared without compromise, combining juiciness and tenderness with the delicate flavor of peas. The green crust that covered it wasn’t just a visual accent – it added a fresh, slightly herbal note that made the dish feel complete and memorable. The interplay of textures worked beautifully here: the crisp exterior, the firm yet tender fish, and the freshness of the garnish.
Chicken schnitzel with a light salad – a classic with a modern touch

The chicken schnitzel was our next choice, and it did not disappoint. Lightly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, it paired naturally with the fresh salad on the side. It was a true comfort dish, prepared with respect for the ingredients and presented with a modern touch that elevates it from a standard classic into something you’d happily order again.
Dessert: cheesecake – a finale that lingers

To finish – a cheesecake that melted in the mouth, leaving a sense of fullness and gentle sweetness, but without heaviness. It was the perfect ending to a gastronomic journey that began with freshness and concluded with pure satisfaction. An ideal dessert for lingering conversations, sharing impressions, and already planning the next visit.
For us, Patriki was more than just dinner – it was an experience. A place where every element has its own story: from the wine selection and the thoughtful use of seasonal ingredients to the calm, comfortable atmosphere. The staff never imposed themselves, yet were always there with the right recommendation at the right moment.
And the atmosphere? Warm, welcoming, free of unnecessary noise – perfect for conversation, shared moments, and slow enjoyment of every bite.
If you’re planning a dinner in Plovdiv, Patriki is one of those places that leaves you with the feeling that you’ve discovered a small, authentic piece of the city.
